Say She She Brings Soulful Sounds to Dublin
The Brooklyn-based soul and R&B band Say She She is set to perform in Dublin at The Academy on November 23 as part of their Cut & Rewind tour. Formed as a tribute to Nile Rodgers, the trio recently released their third album, Cut & Rewind, shortly after their tour for the previous album, Silver. They have graced renowned venues like the Hollywood Bowl and the Roundhouse, and participated in major festivals such as Glastonbury and Austin City Limits.
Sabrina Cunningham, a member of the band, shared insights about her heritage, her life on the road, and her passion for exploring food and art in New York. The band describes their unique sound as ?Discodelic soul? or ?Punk-chic funk,? drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Minnie Riperton and Grace Jones. Cunningham reminisced about her first concert at nine years old, where she saw Fleetwood Mac, and her favorite record, Lauryn Hill?s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Fans can enjoy their music on various streaming platforms, but live performances are where the band believes the true magic happens.
